In 2003, a Herefordshire couple set out to restore a 15th Century property back to its authentic style. I was commissioned to make all the soft furnishings for the house, and when it was all finished the story was published in the Sunday Observer. Below are excerpts taken from the article;
'A chance meeting led the couple to curtain maker Mandy Scott. She shared design ideas with Sue and has created the majority of the soft furnishings.
At night the Furnivals sleep in a medieval hung bed (curtains hang from the ceiling to surround the bed) with electric candle sconces. "We've been eclectic in our terms of reference, what you want is the medieval feel" says Scott. To achieve this, she and Sue chose Voyages Ulysees print (about £30 a metre) in gold with heraldic motifs.'
